Who we are
Urgent Care — Adults & Pediatric is a medical practice led by Dr. Juliette L. Dorsett, M.D. at #5 Boyd Road, Mother Gibson Plaza, Nassau, Bahamas. You can reach us on (242) 328-CARE (2273).
We are responsible for the personal information collected through this website and through the Urgent Care mobile app.
What we collect
- When you use the contact form: your name, email address, telephone number (if you give one), the subject you choose and the message you write.
- When you register in the app: your name, date of birth, sex, contact details and the account credentials you set.
- During your care: the clinical information you share with the doctor, the messages and images you send, and the documents issued to you such as prescriptions, sick slips and referral letters.
- Payments: records of consultation time purchased. Card details are handled directly by our payment processor and are never stored on our systems.
- Technical information: basic details your device sends when you use the app or site, and a temporary record of the network address a contact form was submitted from, which we use only to limit spam.
How we use it
- To answer the questions you send us.
- To provide medical care and issue the documents you need.
- To connect your audio and video consultations.
- To take payment for consultation time.
- To send you notifications about calls, replies and documents.
- To keep proper medical records, as the law requires of us.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the practice. They may process your information only on our instructions:
- Google Firebase — secure storage of accounts, messages, documents and website enquiries, plus push notifications.
- Stripe — card payments for consultation time.
- Agora — the audio and video connection during a consultation. Calls are not recorded by us.
- Vercel — hosting for this website.
How long we keep it
Medical records are kept for as long as professional and legal obligations require. Website enquiries are kept only for as long as we need them to deal with your question, and are then deleted from the practice’s system.
Keeping it safe
Information is stored in access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. Only Dr. Juliette L. Dorsett and staff acting under her direction can see your records. No system is perfect, but we take the security of your health information seriously.
Your choices
- You may ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- You may ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- You may ask us to delete information that we are not legally required to keep.
- You can turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
To make any of these requests, call us on (242) 328-CARE (2273) or use the contact form on this site.
Children
We care for children as patients, but accounts in the app are held by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the information they provide about their child.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Check back from time to time.
